Cathy-Joy Ceremonies
I am Cathy-Joy, an independent celebrant of ceremonies.
Based in North Yorkshire, my life is anchored in the landscape—whether I'm tending to my herb and vegetable garden, hiking the ancient byways, or slow-cooking a meal for family and friends.
After 40+ years of working in the ever-changing world of IT, I decided to swap the digital for the elemental and trained as a celebrant.
I'm a Druid Bard in training (it takes literally years) — which mainly means I love nature, people, standing stones and a well‑timed cuppa… and I'm endlessly curious about absolutely everything.
As such, my work as a celebrant is fuelled by the Awen, which literally means "inspiration" or "flowing spirit". It refers to the spark of creativity when words, ideas, and meaning come together.
Qualifications
- NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Naming and Couples Celebrancy
- OBOD School of Celebrancy CPD in Serving the Living and the Dead
I don't just "tick boxes"; I craft ceremonies that honour life's landmarks.
My approach is creative and collaborative. We start with a meeting or a short questionnaire, where I listen to your story, hopes, and wishes for the ceremony. Then, when you decide I'm right for you, we work together to shape a ceremony that reflects your voice, values, and the people who matter to you.
I create inclusive, meaningful & memorable ceremonies for every identity, every person, every occassion, and every walk of life
Your story is already written in your heart. Let’s find the words to share it with the world.
